Best Women Only Travel Adventures
First, let me say that I despise the term ‘girlfriend getaway’. That leaves out women only family travel such as a spa weekend for mother and daughter bonding, a grandpmother taking a favorite five-year-old skiing, or the joys of solo travel. So let’s talk instead about women only adventure travel.
Adventure Women tours offers these two trips in July 2010 to the American West, to help you find your inner cowgirl:
Hiking Big Sky and Yellowstone, Montana – Led by a professional naturalist guide, with accommodations in real log cabins at a luxury guest ranch. Plus hayrides, barbecues, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, and more. July 24-July 30. $2695, plus airfare.
Rafting, Rodeo, Riding and Fly-Fishing – Celebrate your own personal independence over the Fourth of July weekend whitewater rafting Montana’s wild and scenic Gallatin River, and attend a real Western rodeo. You’ll get lots of horseback riding, close-up views of Yellowstone’s plentiful wildlife, and catch-and-release fly-fishing in clear, trout-filled streams. Accommodations are in log cabins, of course. June 30-July 6, $2695, plus airfare.

Hi Tripdiva –
You and I also probably feel the same way about ‘mancations’. Thanks for the comment. Hope you become a regular visitor.
Evelyn
I absolutely agree about the term “girlfriend getaway”! I travel with my sisters, and our vacations aren’t “girlfriend getaways” (which, to me, sound like weekend shopping trips). They are simply our vacations! We do the stuff anyone else would do – beach vacations in Hawaii, horseback riding in Arizona, sightseeing in London or Montreal. Anything can be a women’s vacation!
Haven’t gotten up the nerve for whitewater rafting, yet, though….
